Training

With two ponds and a 14-acre marsh, in addition to 60+ acres of CRP upland fields, we have the ideal training facilities located right here on our property. With 25+ years of experience with dog training, Jim can assist you with your training needs ranging from getting your dog ready for hunting season to bringing your puppy along to a started or finished dog. We also raise our own birds, so we have the ability to train your dog over a variety of game birds including chukars, pheasants, and pigeons and also provide ducks for waterfowl training. Training programs can be customized to fit the needs of our clients.

We can offer basic obedience training of sit, stay, whoa, heel and come, and can go from there to steady to gun and wing, water retrieval, and upland hunting. Advanced levels of obedience include the same basic commands but

With more than 14 acres of water, we can provide a variety of water training options. We have shallow water for teaching young dogs to swim, marsh areas for teaching search and retrieve, and open water for training on retrieving.

With over 60 acres of CRP ground, we have the perfect setup for upland training. We can work dogs on learning to point, whoa, retrieve, track, back and honor, and be steady to gun/wing right here at our own property.

We have set up an obstacle course to work the dogs through in teaching them to heel. This course is set up alongside the marsh and also includes a blind to use for training dogs to heel to the blind.

With our state license, we can board your dog during training, or just while you're away on vacation. Boarding is $7/day, food not included. Our dogs enjoy an indoor/outdoor kennel, with concrete floor, shade, and a 6'x12' outdoor run. We also provide daily exercise for the dogs.

at longer distances and for longer periods. Our main training goal is to provide the everyday hunter with a hunting companion--we can also train for more advanced levels, including field trials, depending on the client's needs.

Training rates are $400/month with a minimum of one month. This fee includes boarding in our kennel with inside/outside dog runs and concrete flooring. Please contact Jim for more information about our training program and facilities.
